According to the usage and or desire of the client, a wide range of stains, paints, and topcoats are available. Interior or exterior, metal or wood, eco friendly or traditional, if the job calls for a specific coating for optimal performance, FinishMatters will ensure the proper coating is used. The standard finish is a solvent free, hi-solid lacquer that won’t yellow or amber, and has excellent heat and moisture resistance and a smooth, luxurious feel that will last. Custom finishes are available- layered coloring, aging, crackle, paint, glazes, color matching and applications on new unfinished pieces are offered.

Stripping, repairs, & refinishing
All manner of repairs can be done. Whether it’s parts reproduction or fabrication (done by the finest local woodworkers), veneer repair or replacement, or a complete reglue, FinishMatters uses only those materials that guarantee customer satisfaction. All care is taken to maintain the integrity, originality, and beauty of each piece.
I use only water soluble chemicals in the stripping process, no old lye-based products at all. If it can be stripped, it will. There are some construction methods that use particle board or other substrates that do not hold up to chemical strippers or have a more modern finish that aren’t affected by the remover, those items are sanded clean. As noted above, coating will be determined by function and usage.
